Hybrid Microgrid Controllers Basic Hands-on Training

Face-to-face course

Hybrid Microgrid Controllers Basic Hands-on Training
Location:
Vikctor Hasselblads Gata 15, Västra Frölunda421 31, Gothenburg, Sweden
Training fee: 850 EUR per person per day (excluding VAT)
Capacity: 5 participants

Transitioning to more sustainable energy sources is on top of the power generation and energy management agenda. This specialized training program offers an introduction to Hybrid Microgrid Controllers, highlighting their key features and practical applications. The course includes an overview of InteliConfig, covers the fundamentals of configuring InteliNeo 5500/6000 controllers for specific control functions, and concludes with hands-on simulations using our Starter Kits.

After successfully completing this training session, participants will receive ComAp certificates of completion for the course. ComAp certificates are provided at all training locations worldwide, and we ensure that knowledge and expertise remain at the same level.

This course is suitable for customers who are new to Hybrid Microgrid segment or are not familiar with ComAp products and applications.

Agenda

DAY 1
09:00 - 12:00 Hybrid Microgrid overview
Basics of hybrid microgrids (HMG), solutions for island and grid-parallel operation, controllers and accessories, HMG applicatons (MINT, MPTM), BESS, generator, and PV control functions, and overall system energy control.
12:00 - 13:00 Lunch break
12:45 - 16:00 Basics of Configuration & PLC Editor
Practical guide to configuring and programming hybrid microgrid controllers, and their integration with energy sources like BESS, PV, gensets, and mains.

DAY 2
09:00 - 12:00 Communication
Fundametal of communication in hybrid microgrid systems, detailing the interfaces and protocols like Modbus and SunSpec used for connecting controllers, power conversion systems, and third-party devices (Modbus RTU/TCP and SunSpec). Universal genset support. Ethernet/USB/AirGate connection hands-on. Communication with PCS and inverters.
12:00 - 13:00  Lunch break
13:00 - 16:30 Starterkits simulations & test & feedback
Hands-on simulation exercises for hybrid microgrid systems, using a simulation kit to explore various operational scenarios. Participants experience configuring and testing island and parallel operations, power management, dynamic spinning reserve, seamless transitions between grid and island modes, and renewables energy curtailment.
Final test with explanation & feedback.
