When Spanish government marine operator Grupo TRAGSA needed to modernise the power and alarm management systems, along with its engine management system aboard its fishing research vessel Vizconde de Eza, Ardora, a naval service company, delivered a complete retrofit built around ComAp’s marine control technology. ComAp Iberia helped Ardora with PMS and AMS systems design and commissioning. The project replaced ageing, fragmented systems with a unified, fully automated solution that exchanges information among individual systems, giving the crew full control and overview.

The Vizconde de Eza vessel was running an outdated alarm management system (AMS) alongside a partially replaced power management system (PMS), with both operating simultaneously and producing unreliable results. They also needed an engine management system (EMS) upgrade. TRAGSA needed a modern, fully automated solution that would reduce dependence on obsolete spare parts and give the crew straightforward overview and control of the vessel's systems.

ComAp Iberia together with Ardora proposed a complete AMS, PMS and EMS retrofit. The solution centred on the InteliGen 1000 Marine for the PMS, InteliMains 1010 Marine for the AMS, the InteliDrive DCU Marine for EMS, along with InteliSCADA for site overview displayed on InteliVision Marine touchscreen displays. Commissioning was completed on board over 30 days, including sea trials.

The vessel now operates with fully automated PMS, AMS and EMS. Full monitoring and control are accessible via InteliSCADA, with third-party energy optimisation integrated into the platform. Existing safety interlocks were fully retained throughout.
The project has since become a pilot for further vessels in the TRAGSA fleet, with proposals already submitted for similar retrofits, and Ardora continuing to work with ComAp Iberia on new marine projects.
